Landlord Update: Eviction Moratorium Extended through March 2021
As part of our efforts to provide valuable resources to our customers, we regularly share information that we have researched/received that can be of use to landlords and property managers. Here is some recent information that may be of interest to you.
It was recently announced that an executive order was signed to extend the nationwide eviction moratorium through March, 2021.
It had been originally set to expire on January 31. On a positive side, Congress has been asked to approve an additional $30 billion in rental assistance, beyond the $25 billion that was authorized in December.
Lastly, the new CARES stimulus package approved in December will send Pennsylvania an estimated $852 million in rent relief. The state is still determining the rules for use of the money, but fewer regulations will improve the participation rate by reducing the burden on both landlords and tenants.
