FOR AIRBNB HOSTS
The “Philly Airbnb licensing law”, which passed in June 2021, requires Airbnb/Vrbo/etc. operators to obtain a either “Limited Lodging Operator License” or “Rental License that identifies use as a hotel” from the Department of Licenses & Inspections (L&I), and as such, this license is treated as a “rental license” and requires a lead certification to be submitted to the Public Health Department.
Starting Jan 3, 2023, Hosts will not be able to obtain or renew their licenses without a lead certification (the same as a traditional landlord).
