Question: Although it’s no longer required to have the lead certificate signed by the tenant, are landlords/property required to give the certificate to the tenant?

Answer: Yes. Per the Public Health Department (and as stated on the lead certificate) it is required that the certificated be provided to the tenant.

Many landlords/property managers are including the lead certificate in the initial lease package (or renewal) or are sending it separately to the tenant (and keeping a record of the email).
