Lead Law Update: New Requirements for Lead Certifications-Fax/RegularMail Submissions

The Public Health Department has made some small changes to fax and regular mail (not the on-line system) to filing lead certifications.

The newest procedure requires that the landlord complete a cover form (provided by the Public Health Department) which now requires each landlord to include their OPA # as well as certify the information they are submitting.  Again, this is only for fax/regular mail, NOT on-line submissions.

As such, Lead Testing Services LLC is no longer able to fax or regular mail your certificates to the public health department as we cannot certify ownership information regarding your property.  This being the case, this fax/regular mail service will no longer be offered by Lead Testing Services LLC. Of course, we will continue to complete your lead tests and provide you with all of the resources for you to file your results, so you are compliant with the new lead law (including the new cover form and the step-by-step instructions)

Many landlords/property managers are now utilizing the on-line system to file their certificates as fax/regular mail can delay the process of approving your certifications (and thus delay the ability to obtain your rental licenses). For any certificates that have already been sent by fax/regular mail, those will likely be accepted without the cover form.  Going forward, all fax/regular mail submissions require the public health form to be included. Attached are the step-by-step instructions for filing online.

Additionally, for those who wish to utilize fax or regular mail, the cover form is attached for your use.

If you have any questions, please email us or call!
