Lead Law Update (FAQ): Will I be able to Renew my Rental License when it Comes Due for Renewal? (many rental licenses have a February 28th renewal date)

We are regularly receiving questions regarding the new Lead Law and have created a weekly “Frequently Asked Questions” (FAQ’s) forum for you as you desire to become more informed of the Lead Law and its complexity.

This week we are featuring a common question:

 Question: Will I be able to renew my rental license when it comes due for renewal? (many rental licenses have a February 28th renewal date)

 Answer: Yes. You will be able to renew your rental license (via Eclipse) if your property is not within the ZIP code implementation dates.  BUT, We would strongly suggest that if your ZIP code does fall within the upcoming phase II dates (starting April 1), obtain and file your lead certifications now as the Public Health Department may have a backlog of approvals that they need to update to L&I:
