Question: Do I need to do a lead test if I have a tenant with a child under the age of 6 even if my ZIP code requirement is not due yet?

Answer: Yes,  Landlords are required to have a lead certification on file if there is a child under the age of 6 in the property (and even if they weren’t on the lease).  Although your property is in a ZIP code that does not due under the new law, the old law still applies
