Question: Are day care facilities required to be lead tested?
Answer: Yes, day care facilities are required to be lead tested per the law below.
What is the law?
In January 2018, The City of Philadelphia approved a new law (Section A-703) requiring that each day care facility in Philadelphia test all potable water outlets for lead and submit results to the Department of Public Health according to the following guidelines:
· Required for any day care facility caring for 13 or more children
· Perform testing every 5 years (beginning April 2018)
· Reporting the results to the Public Health Department
